Annamalaiyar, also known as Arunachaleswarar, is a revered form of Lord Shiva worshipped primarily at the Annamalaiyar Temple in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. This ancient temple, located at the base of the sacred Arunachala Hill, is one of the five Pancha Bhoota Sthalams, representing the element of fire (Agni). Devotees believe that Lord Shiva manifested here as a column of fire, symbolizing his infinite nature. The temple is also the center of the grand Karthigai Deepam festival, during which a massive fire lamp is lit atop the hill, visible for miles. Annamalaiyar is not only a deity but also a symbol of divine power, inner light, and spiritual transformation.
