The power of Abhijit Nakshatra: How to pray during the 24 minute golden period
The story behind Abhijit Nakshatra
In the great epic Mahabharata, there was a very powerful star time called Abhijit Nakshatra. The Kauravas wanted to use this powerful time to win the war. But Lord Krishna knew that if they start the fight during Abhijit Nakshatra, they would surely win. because anything started in the abijeeth nakshatra time will end in victory. So, he hid this Nakshatra in his peacock feather which he kept in head to protect the Pandavas and make sure truth would win.
That is why Abhijit Nakshatra is considered very special, it is called “The Victorious Star” or “The Invincible one.” Some ancient texts even call it the 28th Nakshatra, even though most people follow 27 nakshatras. It is not always visible, but it is full of divine energy and success.
Why Abhijit time is so special
Abhijit Nakshatra is not a full star like others. It is a small portion of time around 24 minutes that falls between two stars:
-
The end of Uthradam (Uttarashada) Nakshatra (last 12 minutes)
-
The beginning of Thiruvonam (Shravana) Nakshatra (first 12 minutes)
These 24 minutes are believed to be the most divine and victorious time of the day.
Whatever good deeds or prayers you do during this time are said to bring success and blessings. this happens once every month, (exactly once in 28 days).
People who could not follow abijeeth natchathiram time, can follow abijeeth muhurt, which happens every day from 11:36 AM to 12:24 PM and it is perfect for starting anything new prayers, business, or any important work.
How to find Abhijit time in your country
1) Check your local Panchangam (Hindu calendar) to see when Uthradam (Uttarashada) ends and Thiruvonam (Shravana) begins.
2) Take the last 12 minutes of Uthradam (Uttarashada) and the first 12 minutes of Thiruvonam (Shravana) that is the 24 minute Abhijit time every 28 days once.
3) If you don’t have a Panchangam for your country, you can simply follow this general time: 11:36 AM to 12:24 PM (local time), called as abijeeth muhurt time.
This is the approximate Abhijit Muhurta used every day in India.
