Aashada navarathri 2025 | Special 9 days for VArahi amman

Aashada navarathri 2025 | Special 9 days for VArahi amman

Ashadha Gupt Navratri is a 9 day festival to worship Goddess Durga. It happens in the month of Ashadha (June–July),  unlike other Navratris, it is done quietly and privately.

The word “Gupt” means secret. So, this Navratri is not about grand celebrations.
It is about praying with faith and focus, often from home or even silently from the heart.

Why is it special?

This Navratri is especially important for worshipping Goddess Varahi, a powerful and fierce form of Maa Durga who helps remove negativity and protects us from problems.

Many people do special prayers during these 9 days to:

✅ Remove obstacles
✅ Gain peace of mind
✅ Improve their health
✅ Succeed in legal or property matters
✅ Protect themselves from bad energy
✅ Grow spiritually

Dates and deities for each day (June 26 – July 4, 2025)

Day Tithi (Lunar Day) Significance
Day 1 Prathama Start of Navaratri – Auspicious beginning
Day 2 Dwitiya Strength and courage
Day 3 Tritiya Growth and prosperity

Day 5 Panchami Most Auspicious Day  – Special for blessings, protection, and prosperity
Day 6 Shashti Health, vitality, and protection

Day 8 Ashtami Very Powerful Day – Alternative to Panchami if missed – Best for removing negativity
Day 9 Navami Completion – Seeking full blessings of the Devi

How to do the Pooja?

You don’t need to do anything complicated. Just follow these simple steps every day if you can:

  1. Wake up early and take a bath.

  2. Clean your home temple or pooja place.

  3. Place a Durga idol or picture on a red cloth.

  4. Offer flowers, fruits, jaggery or anything sweet.

  5. Light a diya (lamp) and incense. (you can keep the diya continuously lit for the 9 days)

  6. Chant simple mantras like:
    "ஓம் ஸ்யாமளாயே வித்மஹே, ஹல ஹஸ்தாய தீமஹி, தன்னோ வாராஹி ப்ரசோதயாத்"

You can also just close your eyes and pray from your heart if you don’t know the mantras.

What if you can’t follow all 9 days of Ashada navarathri?

That’s okay!
If you cannot do the full 9 days, try doing the pooja at least on:

Day 5 – Panchami (June 30, Monday)
or
Day 8 – Ashtami (July 3, Thursday)

These two days are very powerful and considered the best for Varahi amman.

Even 1 day of prayer with devotion is better than 9 days without focus.

What if I get my deriod During Navratri?

No worries at all🙏
Durga Maa understands.

If you're on your menstrual cycle, you can simply skip those 3 days.
Continue your pooja from the day after it ends.

You don’t need to feel guilty or stop completely.
What matters most is your faith and respect, not rules.

Tips for Navratri

 A beautiful story to remember

A long time ago, a woman told a sage that she couldn't find peace because her husband followed the wrong path.
The sage advised her to worship Goddess Durga during Ashadha Gupt Navratri.

She followed the simple rituals and prayed with full faith.

Slowly, her husband changed. Their life became peaceful and happy again.

That is the power of silent devotion.

 Final thoughts

Ashadha Gupt Navratri is not about doing big things.
It is about doing small things with a pure heart.

Whether you pray all 9 days, only 1 day, or even just sit silently with faith…
The Goddess listens.

Let this Navratri bring you peace, power, and protection.

Jai Maa Durga. Jai Maa Varahi.
